Friday we had the opportunity to catch a foot ferry and hop over to Bull's Island. Except for the couple of people on the ride over, the beach was all ours. It was quiet, beautiful beyond words and the perfect start to our summer. And the rabid mosquitoes that ate through our clothes on the hike to the beach only made the day more memorable. :)

I swear I got a whiff of nostalgia warm sea weather. I just read the other day that Native Americans used bear grease to ward off mosquitoes, however detestable insect repellent might be I think we can be thankful for progress where those particular pests are concerned.
