90 percent of the corn maze consisted of a fake substitute (I come from Iowa, land of corn. No tricking me.) and the pumpkin patch was a sunflower field with pumpkins scattered about. It certainly isn't the midwestern autumn we have come to know...

Just a heads up, I have an awesome FREE holiday template available from The Hummingbird Press. And if you're a lover of fonts, I'm divulging 25 of my favs! Make sure to swing by and snag a few!
This is Wordless Wednesday. Just grab a photo and link up below! And if you'd like to connect with other WW participants, click HERE or one of the thumbnails below.

I used to get lost in my uncle's corn field when I was a kid. After I tripped over the electric fence coming out once, I quit doing that - real fast! But, I think I could find my way through that "maze" without problems.
ReplyDeleteBTW, those two kids of yours sure are growing up fast, aren't they? (Mine surpassed me in height some years ago - and I am 6'1"!)
Happy WW!

That last pic is priceless!

I like the sunflower - pumpkin combo field. It's super pretty!
ReplyDeleteI agree Alicia, quality family time is getting harder and harder to come by. You guys seem like you had a fabulous time at the farm; and were able to capture some great memories too!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Char

Awww. So fun!!
ReplyDeletewe recently went to a pumping patch, corn maze here in Phoenix. It was beautiful but not easy to enjoy with temps over 100! Not really conducive to feeling "fall-ish" :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful family pictures! Looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteSo cool tossing pumpkins in the sunflower patch. Happy WW
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! I adore the last picture!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I love the shots you captured. The sunflowers are beautiful even if it isn't a true pumpkin patch.
ReplyDeleteHow fun, always a pleasure to see your photos and family fun! <3
ReplyDeleteI love that it is a sunflower field :)
ReplyDeleteIt may not have been the kind of pumpkin patch you're used to, but you got some fun shots out of the trip! :) And? You are so stinkin' cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. At least you got some great photos. Love the last one! x
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, like always. Thanks for linking up.

These are great, looks like everyone had fun regardless of the fake cornmaze. Glad you got to have some family time this weekend, we managed it too for the first time in a long time!
ReplyDeleteoh I love these photos! The family picture with your smiles and pumpkins in the air is my favorite of ALL. I love pumpkin patches, one of my favorite things about Fall!
ReplyDeletelast photo is great with the pumpkin caught in the air.
ReplyDeleteOh Alicia! These are so bright and fun! I LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to go!
ReplyDeleteThose tricycles are great! And I love the last picture of all of you. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic :) I always get jealous this time of year of everyone's pumpkin patch photos, we don't have anything like that here :(
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO how our Fall is here in Florida... we tried to go to a Fall festival and it was so hot it was almost miserable. And kind of sad. We will try again soon!! haha.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy any family time you can. It never gets easier as the kids get older. It does look like a fun family time, but I was wondering how it could compare to an Iowa fall!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pumpkin farm! I'm kind of sad that my kids don't seem to care much about going to the pumpkin patch anymore.
ReplyDeleteA sunflower pumpkin patch??? I'm a little disappointed for you, but I'm glad you made the best of it and the pictures are still beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!!
ReplyDeleteGreat family pics!
ReplyDeleteSmashing Pumpkins anyone? Looks like it was a lot of fun. Hope he caught the pumpkin after it was tossed up in the air! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the last picture of you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLolol!! That sunflower field with "pumpkins scattered about" cracked me UP!!! Love it!! (and it's actually quite beautiful!) :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics as always! xo
LoL great shots the pumpkins and the sunflowers what a great pair.
ReplyDeleteI love the tire photo!! Of course, the levitating pumpkins one is pretty awesome as well!
ReplyDeleteThe maze in Clinton? We did that three years ago when the maze was an astronaut. I imagine it is pretty puny compared to the fields and farms of Iowa. ;) Love the photos as usual.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time! And your photos are beautiful as always! We've been trying to squeeze in some family time also while the trees are gorgeous and before the cold weather sets in.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE that he's carrying around your tripod and working the remote? I wondered how you got the great shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time it looks to have been had by all.... Thanks for sharing the special times of the family!
ReplyDeleteMines up as well at AussiePomm - Such a Drag...!!!!
Have a great day!!
Thanks so much, Kim! Good luck on your quest for family time!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Lexington, but it is called Clinton Cease Farm, so that must be the one. This year the maze was in the shape of Obama and Romney, ha! And although the corn was seriously lame, there was plenty of walking!
ReplyDeleteFunny you noticed. I was going to mention it, but yes it's in the last shot. And he was a gem to carry the tripod. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? We live in the south now. Ha! And the sunflower field is definitely something you'd never see in the midwest this time of year, so I guess I just need to embrace the differences!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm afraid my days are numbered as well. Little Man is too cool for Halloween costumes this year. :( Boo.
ReplyDeleteThey just grow up too dang fast! SC is definitely not like a midwest autumn. It was a bit warm at the farm for my taste, but today the weather cooled down and we had some soup. Yah!
ReplyDeleteThat Corn Snake is really cool! Hoping the weather warms up so i can take the boys picking this weekend!
ReplyDeleteAww, sorry Michelle! I was feeling a bit homesick for Iowa when I saw that the corn was fake and the patch wasn't exactly a pumpkin patch either... Hope you can enjoy it vicariously!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dagmar!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Appreciate the kind words!
ReplyDeleteMine too, Annie! It's a long standing tradition- just hope I can talk the kids into it next year. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo happy you found some family time too, Rebecca! Yes, the green, fake corn was odd, but it really was a cute farm and the kids had fun.
ReplyDeleteYes, it certainly was a beautiful backdrop! ;)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Kristi! I seem to be shrinking as the kids get bigger...
ReplyDeleteThanks. Definitely picturesque!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! Seems to be getting more and more rare as the kids get older... they have so much attitude about being photographed these days. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt was high 80s when we went over the weekend and I must admit, it felt a little warm for my taste. Can't imagine 100. Guess we both need to take a little road trip north! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah!
ReplyDeleteThat it is! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammi! Just a whole lot of clicking... Not perfect, but I love it all the same.
ReplyDeleteOh my! That sounds like a traumatic experience!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, the maze was actually kinda tricky. They didn't give maps but rather this secret coded page you could only glance at from time to time. And yes, they are growing up too fast. Little Man wishes he would grow faster, ha. I'm sure he'll bypass his 5 ft mama before too long...
Thanks Tina! Happy WW to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It was a nice pause from regular routines.
ReplyDeleteThe kids really enjoyed it- one way to get smiles. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenni! We had a lot of fun making that one. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, the sunflowers were certainly a surprise- but what a beautiful backdrop!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! We actually have a large sequence of pumpkins at different elevations. They probably would make a fun animated gif. Hubs just kept snapping. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat it was. May not have been like I was used to, but it was beautiful and the kids had fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! We actually have so few pics of our little family together. It was nice that we had a couple keepers. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! Hadn't thought of that. But yes, he caught it. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie! One of my favs as well!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a huge surprise to find the sunflower field. ;) But it really did make for a beautiful backdrop! Thanks so much for stopping by, Karli! Hope all is going well in your home building world!
ReplyDeleteWho woulda thought? ha!
ReplyDeleteha ha. but you went to the farm in short sleeves. That's a plus right? Great photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sofia! There were plenty of fun photo ops on the farm!
ReplyDeleteIt was actually high 80s and I was entirely overdressed. Ha! Today it dipped down and it felt like autumn, but tomorrow I have a field trip with my daughter to the zoo and it's back up to 80. ;) Gotta love the south!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll send some warm temps your way Mimi! ;)
ReplyDeletemay not have been what you're used too, but beautiful pictures like always ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the linky,
I have a linky on my Wordless Wednesday post as well...

Very beautiful shots! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful collage! Your kids are getting taller! :)
ReplyDeleteYou guys are some flippin photogenic! Even with fake corn and random pumpkins, you manage to pull of another fab collage. Gorgeous as always Lish (and what a surprise, a WW from me!)
ReplyDelete(my china trip, the last of the photos, phew!)
Love the fun collage :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It is in Lexington. I only remembered the Clinton part of Clinton Sease Farms. Yes, there is some serious mileage in that maze and lots of interesting information if I remember correctly. (The astronaut was in honor of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing of Apollo 11 - so three years ago.)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have the find the fun, which you obviously did. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. The sunflowers make for pretty photos too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos. It looks like you and your family had a great time!
ReplyDeleteoh my!! i never gave too much thought to fall in the south! pumpkins scattered in a sunflower field is certainly different but absolutely beautiful! looks like your family had a great "autumn" day. beautiful photos, as always! still jealous of your 80-degree temps though!
ReplyDeleteI like the family pic w/hubby tossing the pumpkin. That's good stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteokay... first of all, i love that group shot of yall in the field with the pumpkins...the last one ...
ReplyDeletebut my main comment...
what happened to your kids?! where did they go?! i see young adults!!!! they are all grown up now... well, at least it looks that way!!!!!where does the time go?!
seems as though the south is treating you all just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Love these Lish. I can see how it would be a far cry from what you are used to. But coming from the desert- I would love to have a place like that to go. Some place that was somewhat fall festive. I fear I will be purchasing my pumpkins at the market.
ReplyDeleteThe fake sunflower punpkin patch is hilarious. But sigh, that's all we have here in So Cal.
ReplyDeletehaha, that's funny...but still cute pics! thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a Pumpkin Patch, but would love to go someday. Your family really makes it look like a blast!
ReplyDeleteNeat collage.
We went to the pumpkin patch this week too! How funny that they used fake corn. I love that last shot--so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how you all of it together!! It's so happy!
ReplyDeletefake pumpkin patch and corn maze just doesn't sound right! But you guys still seemed to have had fun!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Alicia! The last is my favourite!! It looks like a lot of fun - we don't have this tradition in Australia.
ReplyDeleteI miss those days with my kids...great shots!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots as always. Love that last one. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Alicia! I came across your blog hop months ago and finally found it again today. Isn't it odd how you think you'll go right back to a blog you saw but it doesn't work that way. So I'm here, I joined your site and I joined the blog hop and I will continue! Your hop is amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourselves. Herding Cats
ReplyDeleteLove that last picture. I have to say, I live in northern PA and we have been to a pumpkin patch and a corn maze (though it has been a few years) and the sunflowers sound a bit funny and having the roped off maze looks a bit weird. But at least it looked fun
